Southridge is generally considered the part of Highlands Ranch that lies south of Summit View Parkway, on a ridge that separates it from Northridge to the north, east of Broadway, and west of Fairview Parkway, which turns into McArthur Ranch Road as it changes direction from north-south to east-west at Wildcat Reserve Parkway. Other considerations are that Northridge community access is generally via Highlands Ranch Boulevard, while Southridge community access is primarily via Fairview/McArthur Ranch, Wildcat Reserve Parkway and South Quebec Street.

Southridge subdivisions are among the most recent areas of Highlands Ranch to be developed, and its homes generally date from about 1998 thru 2007. In the map below, as well as some opinions of what constitutes Eastridge vs. Southridge, there is some overlap of subdivisions between the two.

A few of the Southridge subdivisions listed here are not included in territory governed by the Highlands Ranch Community Association, so they do not have access to the Highlands Ranch recreation centers, and those subdivisions are noted accordingly in the lists below. In some cases, even though they may not be full members of HRCA, some communities have arrangements with HRCA for optional recreation center access at extra cost.
