About Backcountry Subdivision of Highlands Ranch Colorado

The new gated and exclusive Backcountry subdivision of Highlands Ranch, Colorado is located in zip code 80126 and 80129, just south of Wildcat Reserve Parkway where it meets with South Broadway. Access is controlled by a guarded security gate. When completed, in about 2016, Backcountry will consist of about 400 single family homes, including many custom homes, plus a number of upscale patio homes on low maintenance lots. Homes in this area date from late 2007 to brand new, and will be priced from the $500s for homes in the Villas Collection, to over $3 million for a few custom homes. Backcountry is a private, gated community, with its own clubhouse, “Sundial House”, with meeting and party rooms, a catering kitchen, event planning staff, exercise rooms, and an adjoining seasonal resort swimming pool. In addition, Backcountry homeowners have full access to all of the other Highlands Ranch recreation centers, parks, trails and other amenities. Backcountry will also has its own private open spaces, with trails that connect to the HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area, and from there, to other Highlands Ranch and Douglas County parks and trails. Many Backcountry homes will back to community open space or to the Backcountry Wilderness Area.

Because this is a builder new home community, there may be very limited results for resales in the search below. In addition, since many of the addresses will be new, Google Maps, Mapquest and other internet mapping sites may not be able to accurately map every address for all of these new properties for a while.

Since this is a private gated community with 24 hour secured entrance, please be sure to contact us to arrange to view the available builder models or custom lots, and limited number of resales! We have access passes from the developer, plus specialized knowledge about the Backcountry area and homes. Contacting and using us as your registered agent at Backcountry will also establish your right to full buyer agency representation, which means your best interests would be protected in all negotiations with the builder, at no extra cost to you. It will also qualify you for the free home listing offer as presented below, which can save you thousands of dollars.

Custom Homes and Lots in Backcountry

Some of the best lots in Backcountry have been reserved for high end custom homes. These lots are currently very limited, and are also subject to prior sale to people on Backcountry’s pre-sale reservation list. As new custom lots become available on a phase by phase basis, they are offered first to people who have already pre-registered their interest, and then to the public only if no one on the pre-registered list buys them first. Patio Homes in Backcountry

There are no true patio homes in the Backcountry subdivision. Homes sometimes listed as patio homes here are actually part of the “Luxury Villas” collection by Shea Homes. Homes in this collection are on much smaller and therefore lower maintenance lots than most other Backcountry homes, and most are ranch style. But the homeowner is still responsible for all landscaping and building maintenance, which excludes them from the true patio home category. We are very familiar with this collection of homes.
